Welcome to Western Trail Ranch located in the historic "Cowtown" of Wichita, Kansas. Our motto is "preserving the past while exploring the possibilities" of the best registered Texas Longhorn cattle in the industry. Most of all, we look forward to enjoying the friendship and partnership of the folks raising longhorn cattle. We spent 30 years serving our country in the United States Air Force and retired in 2008. Our new chapter in life is raising registered Texas Longhorn cattle.

Our longhorn operation started in 2008 with the assistance of Charlene Semkin of Semkin Longhorns and Joshua Cashman of Rockin' J Longhorns. We partnered with Joshua in our continuing effort to produce outstanding longhorn cattle. The Western Trail Ranch herd is bull powered by Trail Dust 40 (2-Time World Horn Champion, Horn Showcase Champion, World Record Breaker owned by RJL), And So It Begins (co-owned with RJL), and Reds Wonder. You will also see great bulls in our pedigrees. Please look at the pedigrees of our cows and we believe you will also be impressed.  We have our first crop of calves now and are getting ready to have our second on the ground in the next few months. 

We are members of the TLBAA and TLMA and attended the Longhorn World Championship, Guthrie, OK in October 2009, the Texas Longhorn Legacy Sale VI, Fort Worth, TX in March 2010 and the Millennium Futurity competition in Glenn Rose, Texas in May 2010. We very much enjoyed our trips and look forward to attending more events.
